    10 of 13 PRH Booker Longlisters Led By Atwood, Rushdie

    Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie, and eight more Penguin Random House authors are among the thirteen longlisted for this year’s Booker Prize published by our U.S., Canada, and U.K. imprints. These semi-finalists for this coveted international English-language literary honor were selected by a British judging panel from 151 submitted books published in the U.K. and Ireland between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019.

    RHCB’s GO, DOG. GO! to be Adapted for Netflix Original Series by DreamWorks with DHX Media

    DreamWorks is producing a new Netflix Original series based on Random House Children’s Books’ GO, DOG. GO! by P.D. Eastman, edited by Dr. Seuss. The CG-animated series is being created with DHX Media and will premiere in 2020. Executive produced by Adam Peltzman (Odd Squad, WallyKazam), who is also serving as showrunner, the series follows a young pup and her adventures in Pawtson.

    Andy Weir Spans Oz, Wonderland, Neverland Multiverse in New Crossover Graphic Novel

    Before Andy Weir became recognized internationally as the #1 New York Times-bestselling, award-winning author of THE MARTIAN (Crown/Broadway), he spent his free time writing fanfiction and web comics. With the help of illustrator Sarah Andersen, one of his early web comics has been adapted into a lushly illustrated new graphic novel, CHESHIRE CROSSING, published by Ten Speed Press on July 9.

    Jimmy Kimmel Writes and Illustrates His Debut Children’s Picture Book, to be Published December 2019

    Written, illustrated, and hand-lettered by Jimmy Kimmel himself, THE SERIOUS GOOSE is an interactive picture book that challenges readers of all ages to turn a very Serious Goose into a very Silly Goose, and will be published on December 3, 2019, it was announced today by Barbara Marcus, President & Publisher, Random House Children’s Books. North American rights were negotiated with Suzanne Gluck, William Morris Entertainment. The book will release with a first printing of 500,000 copies.

    Sandford, THE CHALK MAN 2019 ThrillerFest Honorees

    John Sandford, the beloved #1 bestselling Putnam author of more than thirty novels in the respective series featuring relentless law-enforcement officials Lucas Davenport (Prey) and Virgil Flowers, was honored as the 2019 ThrillerMaster at the International Thriller Writers (ITW) July 13 closing ceremony, concluding the 14th annual five-day ThrillerFest Convention in Manhattan. Earlier that Saturday, Sandford sat for a rare and revealing interview, conducted by his long-time editor, now-retired Putnam Associate Publisher and Editor in Chief Neil Nyren.

    PRH Pilots Diversity Library Program in Ten Title One High Schools Across NYC

    As we continue to support diversity and inclusion, Penguin Random House is piloting a Diversity Library program with ten Title One high schools from across New York City’s five boroughs. Each institution selected to be part of the program will receive a total of 20 titles by diverse authors geared towards high-school-aged students, published by Random House Children’s Books and Penguin Young Readers imprints. The books will become a part of the schools’ libraries.

    Basketball and book clubs? Not a common combination, but an important one to Ekpe Udoh. A professional player for the National Basketball Association’s Utah Jazz, Mr. Udoh is a voracious reader and has his own book club, which attracted the interest of Michelle Obama earlier this year. “Do I get a vote?” Mrs. Obama tweeted to Mr. Udoh’s request for help choosing his next book.
